In order to objectively compare web site ranking on organic search engine result pages iWebMa developed a formula and a method: iWebMaRank.

Ranking itself is not a measure of the difficulty of the competition when starting a new search marketing campaign, since the different number of search results for different keywords make the comparison complicated. For some keywords there are millions of result pages while other keywords only have a few hundred results. iWebMaRank is the number of results for a given keyword divided by the position of a given web site in the search result if the position is between 1 and 100. If a web site is not in the top 100 result for a given keyword iWebMaRank is automatically set to 0.

At the beginning of a customer service contract we record iWebMaRank values that will be a good measurement base to evaluate iWebMa's service quality.

  • Daily limit is 10 queries per network address.
  • Your own search engine API keys can be used for more queries.

Keyword Position Tool Guide

  • Keyword - Enter the keyword you want to query.
  • Website - Enter your website address you want to query (e.g. www.iwebma.com).
  • Code above - Enter the 5 character security code seen above. This code protects our visitors against abusers.
  • Language of the keywords you entered - An english language page competes with every english language pages.
  • Entering search engine API keys - Daily limit is 10 queries, your search engine API keys can be used for more queries. Click on the proper search engine label (Google API key, Yahoo! Developer ID and MSN Application ID) in order to register a search engine API key.

Example: Registering a Google search engine API key

  • If you do not have a Google Account, please create one.
  • If you have a Google Account, login in the following page and request a new Google API key that will be delivered to you in email.
  • Copy the API key (e.g. 325LivhQZ7j/lO/6gqiFIo14icAqu28V - non-existing demo key) you got in email into the Google API key labelled field.
